A drake Gadwall is the largest waterfowl that i have seen a GBBG kill at the reservoir. Their usual method is to isolate a dabbling duck out on the water and to persistently make it dive under the water until it is exhausted. Then it is either a quick drowning or a few blows to the head to finish it off before eating it.
